4 Easy Recipes: Healthy Holiday Desserts & Sides
This past Sunday, my friend and fellow Health Coach E. Chloé Lauer of Zest for Life Today and I hosted a fantastic holiday cooking class. It was a lot of fun and we had a lovely group of people who were all eager to learn some easy recipes. The attendees were from a mix of different backgrounds including some Paleo eaters, some CrossFitters, some generally grain-free eaters and some just looking for healthy new recipes. We had representation from San Francisco residents as well as a couple of people who came from as far as Sacramento and Mountain View. Everyone got a chance to dig their hands in and help out with different parts of the recipes from stirring and mixing to chopping and grating.
In our class we prepared four delicious healthy dishes.
These sides and desserts are fantastic for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any time of year (though some of these ingredients are seasonal!) as they’re made with simple, affordable ingredients.
The recipes we made*:
- Chunky Cranberry Sauce
- Carrot Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette
- Grain-Free Apple Crumble
- Pumpkin Pie Custard
*All recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free and refined sugar-free.

If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, keep your eyes peeled for more classes in the future. Remember to register early as each event will likely be pretty intimate with around 8 people maximum able to attend.
