The Balanced Bites Master Class is the first workshop of its kind to harness the knowledge and experience of two award-winning, best-selling authors and holistic nutritionists, into a fun, engaging, laugh-while-you-learn online workshop.

We Know What You're Thinking… If I'm already a certified practitioner,
How Will This Master Class be Different?

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of real food nutrition, the myths and truths of our current dietary landscape, and the foundations of supporting overall wellness. Through a combination of multimedia-based video modules, worksheets, daily journaling, and a supportive online community, you’ll uncover amazing insights for yourself and clients, and develop real, actionable steps for a balanced lifestyle and thriving practice.

For more than five years, we've fielded thousands of questions on real food nutrition through our live events, websites, online programs, and the Balanced Bites podcast.

We know the struggles and the excuses you’ve been hearing because we’ve been there. We have developed solutions for even the most challenging clients… and guess what?

It doesn’t have to be complicated!

We created the Balanced Bites Master Class to deliver a strong foundation on real food nutrition, breaking down the science to a level that people can easily understand, busting all the myths, and creating action-based steps that your clients can use to create lasting transformation.

Plus, connection is key! We are excited to connect you to a network of other like-minded practitioners who won’t be creating crazy, dogmatic protocols, but rather, are also seeking real-food, sustainable strategies to better serve their own clients and community.

GET ON THE WAITLIST

Here’s the thing, after years of working with clients 1-on-1, we know exactly how frustrating it can be!

We know that there is a gap between what you learned in school, and what happens when you're out there coaching on your own.

Not only are you breaking your clients' bad nutrition habits and beliefs, you are trying to communicate to them, in simple terms, why they need to eat the butter, give up the fat-free and low-fat foods and stabilize their blood sugar.

As a coach or practitioner, how you communicate to your clients is critical and the Master Class will provide you with the skills and tools you need to help your clients make a breakthrough.

The Balanced Bites Master Class takes the essence of our full-day seminar, and dives deeper into the most common struggles with a completely guided, 10-week, online class that will transform how you think about your own health and how you support your clients.

We've traveled the country teaching our live seminars, and answered tough questions from our listeners on the Balanced Bites podcast. Now, we are sharing our knowledge with everyone in an engaging and organized format. The Balanced Bites Master Class combines hundreds of hours of expertise with a personal transformation program that will help you, and your clients, implement lasting changes. All from the comfort of your living room!

Even with the freedom to study in a way that's comfortable for you,
you won't be alone.

We will check in with you through the private Master Class community, where you will also have the opportunity connect and share tips with other practitioners just like you!

You shouldn’t feel stuck or uncomfortable when meeting your clients.

Maybe you know you are overwhelming and confusing your clients with your lengthy recommendations. Or maybe you struggle explaining the body’s complicated blood sugar processes in a way that will help your client understand why she needs to avoid her afternoon latte. Perhaps you just feel like you are always chasing a complex solution, forgetting that there is such power in addressing health from a “back-to-basics” approach.

The Balanced Bites Master Class was made just for you.

We know how you’re feeling, because we’ve been there, too.

But you know what?
Nothing changes if nothing changes.

It’s up to you to take the first step toward making a real, positive change, and the Balanced Bites Master Class is here to help you every step of the way, by presenting you with the tools to empower yourself and your clients in a well-balanced, simple and engaging way!

You Might be Thinking…

I’ve already gone to school for this. I have your books and I’ve been listening to the podcast for years – in fact, I’ve listened to every episode,

what else could you possibly tell me that I haven’t already read or heard?

We are so excited you’ve already “spent” so much time with us, but in the Balanced Bites Master Class, we will help you take your nutrition knowledge to the next level providing a new perspective and tools you can use to help your clients make lasting change.

From Diane’s easy-to-understand, practical explanations about complex nutrition topics, to Liz’s unique ability to present the how and why behind common nutrition myths, the Balanced Bites Master Class offers you the most well-rounded and comprehensive nutrition class possible and how you can relate the material it back to your clients.

In addition, you will be surrounded and supported by others on the same journey – a powerful community of real food enthusiasts and practitioners seeking knowledge to improve their health and the health of their loved ones and clients.

Picture This…

You confidently explain how saturated fat and cholesterol work in the body without your client’s eyes glazing over in confusion.

You find it easy and comfortable to meet with your clients as they approach you with questions or comments.

You enjoy busting common nutrition myths when you are with clients or even out with friends!

You envision short term and long term goals and recommendations while working with a client, instead of rushing to change everything at once.

You become the community expert on best local farmers, vendors and products.

The Balanced Bites Master Class can help you get there!

The Balanced Bites Master Class is the most comprehensive workshop on nutrition and wellness available.

We walk you step-by-step through the history of how our government arrived at the standard nutrition recommendations, as well as the myths & truths about good nutrition, in an easy-to-digest, fun and engaging format. You’ll feel like you are listening to an extra episode of The Balanced Bites Podcast each week…but way better!

You could spend what feels like forever trying to tie all the puzzle pieces together on your own and how it can apply to your clients. In fact, you may have already tried to do so.

But with the Master Class, you’re not alone. We’re here to empower you with the information you need to connect the dots, so you can consistently make the best choices for you and your clients, in both diet and lifestyle changes. Plus, you’ll be welcomed into our Master Class community, full of other real food-conscious practitioners, all seeking optimal health.

The Balanced Bites Master Class is the first course of its kind that:

  • Explains the how & why of current dietary dogma, so you can truly appreciate the volume of misinformation we’ve been fed for decades
  • Details the myths & truths about saturated fat, cholesterol, protein and carbohydrates, empowering you to eat real food without fear
  • Reveals where true nutrition actually comes from, so you can appropriately fuel your body for any goal you’d like to achieve
  • Guides you step-by-step through the foundations of good health, including proper digestion, blood sugar regulation, and key lifestyle factors to help you feel and look your best
  • Connects you with a like-minded community of real-food practitioners, providing support, accountability, and unique and diverse perspectives
  • Challenges you to put the material into action through case studies and discussions, relating material back to the most common client struggles without overcomplicating the root issues or being dogmatic

BUT DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT…

What others are saying about learning from Liz & Diane:

  • “I on-boarded a new client while in the master class that has high cholesterol. What I've taken away from the course is the ability to confidently explain the myth of cholesterol, how it originated and where the cracks in the information we get are, to my clients. I am also doing a talk on healthy fats at a lunch & learn in early January and I have taken so much of what I learned in the course and put it into my presentation. I'm overall just feeling more inspired and confident in my coaching practice!”Chelsea Gross, Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach (CTNC™)
  • “As a recent NTP, this course was gave me that extra boost of confidence when working with my clients. The course was a great addition to what I learned from NTA but also broke detailed information down in a way that was easier to understand and communicate to clients. The course has also provided a lot of material that will make creating my own handouts for clients easier.”Jamey Floreck, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTA)
  • “I have followed Diane and Liz for years and totally expect in-depth discussions in an accessible and fun way. This course exceeded those expectations. I was truly surprised by the detail given to each presentation, both in content and design. The slides were fun and made the subjects and points way more memorable. I often struggle with homework and assignments and found these fun and relevant, relatively simple, yet required an understanding of what was being taught. Everything tied together seamlessly. Education should be fun, and the Masterclass does not disappoint!”Michal Ofer, Integrative Health Coach (IIN)

  • “Are you an athlete? Do you suffer from digestive distress? Have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition? Maybe you just want to live a long life and look good naked! Whatever your goals, Diane & Liz do the heavy-lifting by condensing the science and a lot of practical how-tos into bite-sized pieces you can apply to your own life. “Robb Wolf, New York Times bestselling author of The Paleo Solution and former research biochemist
  • “After many years of taking nutrition classes, both in college and in post-graduate studies, I’ve never had it broken down in easy and applicable terms. Then after taking Diane’s seminar over the weekend, I learned more in four hours than in four years, but I could apply her information the next day. Yes, nutrition can be very complicated, and that’s why people give up. But by taking a one-class seminar, Diane broke down nutrition so it’s understandable and most importantly, very applicable. I highly recommend her class for any reason and for any walk of life… I can’t wait till I take the next course.”Dr. Thomas J. Ebalo, Chiropractor in Davenport, IA – QuadCity CrossFit workshop attendee
  • “Diane clearly understands the science behind diet and can answer any questions about what to eat, what not to eat, and why. Our athletes reported that they learned a ton of new information and were energized and motivated to clean up their diets after listening to Diane speak. In addition, Diane’s blog and website have also proven to be an invaluable resource to our athletes as they navigate a new dimension of healthy eating. If you are looking for a well-educated, articulate nutritionist who is a living example of why this stuff works, Diane is your woman.”Juliet Starrett, Owner, San Francisco CrossFit
  • “No matter what I put into words, I can’t really explain the benefits of learning what she has to teach. Diane is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and that comes across after about 2 minutes of listening to her talk about nutrition. She presents everything is a very simple and well organized format. I have read up a lot on Paleo and have been eating this way for a few months now, but no matter how much you think you know, there is much more to learn.”Anthony K., Wilmington, DE workshop attendee – CrossFit GameShape

Frequently Asked Questions

The Balanced Bites Master Class is a series of 9 modules, released over the course of 10 weeks (one module is paced over two weeks due to its length).

Each week, a new video module is added to your login area (along with with accompanying audio and PDF downloads) that will dive deep into the history, science, and myths behind a topic.

After watching the module, you will complete a workbook that applies the lessons to your personal goals. Next, you'll set an intention for the week and log progress in your personal journal (supplied as a printable PDF that may also be completed digitally using Adobe Acrobat).

The Balanced Bites Master Class Facebook Group will offer discussion prompts moderated by our team of certified practitioners, and each week you will have a chance for your questions to be answered by Diane & Liz on a live call.

To stay on track with the course, you should allow about 3-4 hours each week to view the video module, complete the workbook and journal, and participate in the discussion. You'll be applying the information you learn in the class to your everyday life and in your practice, so there may be some time spent outside of your study time here and there as well.
We run the course live over 10 weeks, but you are also welcome to self-pace as you need to. You will keep access to the materials after the live course timeframe ends. Access to the practitioner-specific content and support group is available to you on an annual basis after the first year, which is included in your initial fee.
If you do not own Practical Paleo 2nd edition or Eat the Yolks, you will need them to complete the required reading for the course. Note that the 2nd edition of Practical Paleo is recommended due to the updated nature of the content of the book. There is nothing else to purchase, unless you choose to have your workbooks and journal printed at an office supply store like FedEx/Kinkos, Staples, Office Max, or Office Depot (printing at home is just fine!)
If you are a health or fitness practitioner working with clients 1-on-1 or in groups and you think you want to be able to teach some of what you'll learn to your clients, then the practitioner track is for you.

If you simply want to learn the information for your own benefit, but aren't interested (or aren't sure if you're interested) in client case study examples and application, handouts and worksheets to provide to your clients, and a practitioners-only community, then the student track is for you. If you take the student track and decide after the fact that you want to upgrade to the practitioner track, we plan to have this option available at a later date, but we aren't able to guarantee that option for this enrollment and study period.

Yes. The Balanced Bites Master Class goes beyond the classroom, incorporating our combined experience helping thousands of people who struggle with the transition to real food and better health.

We’ve developed a system and tools that will help even the most challenging clients understand the myths of the Standard American Diet and the power of real food nutrition. And should you ever feel stuck, the Master Class community will connect you with other like-minded practitioners for support and guidance.

The Balanced Bites Master Class Practitioner Program is not an independent certification to coach clients on nutrition. Currently certified health and nutrition practitioners can use this course to develop a deeper understanding of common client challenges and use this program in conjunction with other certifications. The Practitioner course qualifies graduates of the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) for 36 CEUs.

Upon completing this program as a practitioner, you will be listed as a Certified Balanced Bites Master Class Practitioner on the Balanced Bites website for client referral and reference.

For questions regarding the legalities of practicing nutrition in your state, please refer to nutritionadvocacy.org.

At this time, we do not offer content on setting up a coaching practice. The tools in the Master Class are designed to help with 1:1 and small group health and nutrition coaching. That said, the community of practitioners you will be connected to within this course will be an amazing resource in supporting your new endeavor.
The annual fee for the practitioner program provides continued support through the Facebook practitioner group, a listing in the practitioner database on balancedbites.com, additional client handouts, support materials, and any new content that may be added to the Practitioner program for the duration of each year of your access. The fee also provides exclusive access to the Master Class affiliate program, which will offer a significant affiliate commission to only actively certified practitioners.
Your access to the student materials (the main content videos, audio, journal, and student workbook) will remain as long as this course is available online. You will not lose access to the student level content.

Your access to the practitioner-exclusive benefits, content, and community will end when your annual membership period ends. If you completed the course and received certification and a listing on balancedbites.com as such, your listing and certification terminate once your practitioner access ends.

Currently only Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) program graduates are be eligible for CEUs. The NTA grants 36 CEUs for this course. To be eligible for CEUs, you will need to submit fill in the blank responses to questions for each module. We will validate your responses each week and present you with a certificate of successful completion at the end of the course that you will then submit to NTA for your credits.

Note that the course completion for CEUs is not dependent on a specific grade in the course but rather your completion of the work. If we feel the level of your work is not where it needs to be to prove your participation, we will contact you independently to let you know as soon as it is apparent to us that this is the case. While we recommend that you keep the pace with the course timeline, you may submit all of you work up to no later than one year from your enrollment date to qualify for your CEUs.

At this time, we are only able to provide for CEU credits through the NTA.
The only public discount we offer at this time is for active military or their immediate family (husband/wife only). If you qualify for a military discount, please email masterclass (at) balancedbites.com for more information.

There are no scholarships available at this time.

While we don't have an exact date scheduled yet, we anticipate the next enrollment will be approximately 1 year from now.

Master Class Refund Policy

We know you’re going to absolutely love what we’ve created for you, but, if you somehow don’t feel you're learning something that you can apply to your own life for self-improvement, here’s what you need to do to receive a refund within the first 30 days of the course:

1. Notify us by sending an email to [email protected] with the reason that you are requesting the refund so that we can help you through the process.
2. Provide proof that you have completed Modules 1-3.
This can be done by submitting your fill-in-the-blank answers for each lesson as well as scanned copies of the workbooks (we do not need to see your personal Master Class journal pages).
3. Remove yourself from the Master Class Facebook groups
4. Unsubscribe from the Master Class email list

Once these steps have been completed, we will process your refund.

The course begins on January 20, 2017. Refund requests after February 19, 2017 will not be accepted.
