While marinated onions typically include sugar, these have no sugar at all and are a healthy way to add some tangy flavor to lots of dishes. Enjoy these marinated onions on burgers, in tuna salad, in tacos, or as a salad topper. Keep a batch of these on hand at all times; you’ll be glad you have them!
Marinated Onions
Servings: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Balanced Bites spice blend of choice
- 2 medium red onions cut in 1/4−inch−thick half moons
Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix together the vinegar, salt, and spices. Add the onions, stir to coat well, cover, and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
- The onions will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.
