Diane Sanfilippo What's Up Weekly 0 Comments

Here is your “What's Up Weekly” for last week!

Quick Links:WUW-Square-Apr20

If you were on my email list, you received a first look at my Mexican Pork Tenderloin video & recipe. This will be available on my website soon. Check your email for that information until then!

Follow Along Step-by-Step

I made the lemon, cilantro & bacon scallops shown below, a recipe I've never made before (I actually made it up on the fly, because that's how I roll), through a series of step-by-step, 10-second videos on Snapchat. Live, raw, unedited cooking!
Find me dianesanfilippo on the app!

I know many of you don't want to try Snapchat. That's totally fine! Don't use it if you don't want to. I'm telling you that this went down over there because the platform allows for it (while others like Facebook and Instagram just don't).

So, join the fun or don't, it's all good either way! It's new to all of us! Learning new apps is something I find fun, but I know not everyone does.

Diane Scallop Dinner

I also made this easy cauliflower rice step-by-step on Snapchat last week. It was Trader Joe's cauli rice in a pan with some onions & garlic and a little cooking fat, Primal Palate adobo seasoning, capers, and currants.

Beautycounter skincare & cosmetics
The product that got me hooked

I haven't “washed” my face in at least three years. Before that, I oil cleansed with coconut oil. That is, until I tried the Charcoal Cleansing Bar from Beauty Counter.

Beauty Counter Charcoal BarThis soap feels different than other soaps, and seems to help any breakouts I may get to CALM THE EFF DOWN much faster than they would on their own. I'm talking less pain and redness in 2 days instead of 4-5. That's a big deal to me while I continue to work on resolving the cause of my breakouts. Liz sent it to me, and I'm glad she did!

I realize the bar is out of stock for a while, sorry ladies, but it's a good place to grab sunscreen or other makeup as well. Read my full thoughts about Beautycounter products here.

If you've been looking for help with acne or safer makeup options, check out Beautycounter's products here.

You can check out the other items I've been using as well –  Tint Skin Foundation here, the Concealer Penhere, and other safer high-performance makeup here.

Yes, it's an affiliate link, but you guys know I only share things I love 100%. I've been using this soap for several weeks already but kept it under wraps until I could speak from more experience with it.

You've probably been seeing a lot about this company and their products from Paleo bloggers right now, and rightfully so… WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. Safer skin care that isn't only twigs and berries. Because, let's face it, I'm not giving up my makeup just because I want to be healthier. I have my limits.

BEFORE & AFTER. Love roasted Brussels but having trouble getting them to brown the way you want?! ## Here are my best tips: 1) don't over-fat them – about 1-2 teaspoons per pound is probably enough; 2) slice them at least in half or quarter them if they're huge; 3) place them flat side down directly onto a metal sheet pan – don't use parchment, foil, or a silpat. I toss mine with simply sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder and typically use either bacon fat or ghee as the cooking fat. 375 for as long as it takes for them to be done – anywhere from 20-30 minutes or so – it'll vary with the size of your sprouts. Enjoy your crispy roasted Brussels sprouts! ? #cookwithdiane #brussels #brusselssprouts #paleo #practicalpaleo #21dsd
