Kale chips bake up crispy and delicious. Season these chips with any of the spice blends we sell, or just use sea salt to keep them more basic. For the best texture, I recommend enjoying these immediately rather than storing them for later.
This recipe also contains one of our Balanced Bites Spice Blends - RANCH Spice Blend - which you can shop here!
Ingredients
- 2 bunches curly kale or other variety
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon RANCH Spice Blend
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Rinse the kale leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a towel. Pull the leaves from the stalk by holding tightly onto the end of the stalk and running your hand up the sides. You can also just cut the stalks out. Discard the stalks or save them for juicing.
Roughly chop the kale into large pieces and place it in a large mixing bowl. Pour the oil over the kale and gently massage it in, spreading the oil evenly over all of the kale.
Arrange the kale in a single layer on 2 rimmed baking sheets and sprinkle both sides with the spice blend.
Bake for 10 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave the kale in the oven for an additional 10 minutes as the oven cools.
Notes
FODMAP-FREE?
Omit the Ranch Spice Blend and season with salt and pepper instead.
NOTE
Keep a close eye on the kale as it bakes. It can burn quite quickly if you’re not paying attention.
