Have you ever tried a blondie? They are similar to a brownie in shape and texture, but a blondie will use vanilla and brown sugar to get its flavor, versus a brownie that uses white sugar and chocolate or cocoa. The end result is buttery, slightly chewy, and seriously delicious. Especially when you add rich chocolate chunks and sprinkle flakey sea salt on top.
I added a little holiday fun to these brownies by also including red and green M&Ms, but you could absolutely leave these out if you like.
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour of choice
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
- ½ cup red & green M&Ms (optional)
- VANILLA Infused Sugar
- Flakey sea salt
Preheat oven to 350ºF and grease an 8x8 square baking pan.
Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth. In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, and beat until combined.
Stir in the chopped chocolate and M&Ms (saving some to scatter over the top).
Press into the baking pan and sprinkle with the remaining chocolate and M&Ms, VANILLA Infused Sugar & flakey sea salt before baking.
Bake for 14-16 minutes, until a toothpick comes out almost clean, then leave in the pan to fully cool.
Slice into 9 squares.
