SPICED BUTTERY APPLE SPREAD

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled and diced (about 4 cups)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons CINNAMON Infused Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

Purée the chopped apples in a food processor or blender, scraping down the sides often, for about 45 to 60 seconds or until smooth. Pour the puréed apples into a saucepan and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often, until as much liquid as possible is cooked out and the apples are the consistency of a thick paste. Put the paste in a mixing bowl and let cool until it is just warm.

Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and mix until well combined. Store in the refrigerator in a glass jar for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

If you don’t want to use butter, you can make this spread with ghee or even coconut butter.
