While looking through my great grandmother's recipe books - some hand-written, some typed up on a typewriter - I came across at least three different coffee cake recipes. My granny and I shared both a birthday and a love of sweets! I decided to mesh together a few of the recipes, along with my own memories of how cinnamon coffee cake at the Jersey Shore (LBI, to be exact) tasted, to come up with this moist, delicious version. Enjoy this as a dessert or with coffee for breakfast, or anytime as a snack.

Rich & fudgy, these brownies are the perfect recipe for your fall baking needs! Try to use the best quality chocolate you can find – it will make a big difference in the end result!

Impress guests with these easy homemade truffles that look elegant but use ingredients you probably have lying around in your pantry.

They're not super-sweet, but just right to hit the spot without overloading you with sugar.

This year, Scott and I wanted to create an easy side dish to go with our Thanksgiving dinner since we were already tasked with making not only the turkey, gravy, and stuffing, but also cranberry sauce, antipasto skewers (from Gather), and an apple tart! Whew!

We had a lot on our plates to make this holiday meal Paleo for the whole family – literally and figuratively.

Everyone loved these whipped sweet potatoes and I don't think any made it into take-home containers for leftovers! You may want to double the recipe if you're a big leftovers fan.

Do you drink iced coffee? One of my friends got me into year-round iced coffee ages ago, which isn’t such a stretch in San Francisco since our *winter* low temp is usually around 50 degrees.

It’s something I don’t make myself, and I don’t want to start. For all the things I *do* make, this is one I enjoy outsourcing.

I’ve loved Chameleon Cold Brew since early 2013, when I tried it for the first time. It wasn’t even nationally available at that time, I’m an OG fan. I know many of you have tried it from my recommendation as well. While I use the sold-cold version in jars at home, the canned versions are shelf-stable and ready-to-drink, so you can enjoy them anytime, on the road, etc.

You guys are always asking me how I mix up my cold brew coffee, so here you go! It's SO easy!

When you’re looking for a quick and easy dessert, baking fruit with a nutty topping is probably the easiest thing you can do.

Crumble is one of the easiest desserts to whip up – just combine a few high-quality ingredients, bake, and you have a sweet treat ready to go in under an hour! + it's perfect for entertaining – you could easily try a few varieties of different fruits & no matter what, you'll have a truly delicious result!

What's more quintessential to fall than a Pumpkin Spice Latte?

Most are laden with hard-to-pronounce syrups, with no pumpkin included whatsoever, so I wanted to share my own spin on this popular drink! It's quick and easy to make, more affordable than the Starbucks version, and lightly sweetened with my Pumpkin Spice Infused Sugar… perfect to whip up on a cold fall morning!

If you've been wondering how to make a matcha latte, read on. At least, if you want to know how I make my matcha latte!

Matcha lattes have become super popular, and I've recently jumped in on this trend!

During my recent book tour, I realized very quickly that my body simply couldn't handle caffeine from coffee. So, I stopped drinking coffee while on that trip. And, when I got home I decided to try drinking matcha. So far, I'm loving it!

I do feel a little bit of the caffeine from the matcha, but it doesn't feel at all the way coffee did. If you compare how much caffeine is in matcha to coffee, you'll see it's quite a lot less. I googled to see how much caffeine I was likely getting in my morning Chameleon Cold Brew (CCB) compared to matcha, and here's what I found.

The way I mixed my CCB, I was getting anywhere from 200-250mg of caffeine. source
The way I mix my matcha, I now get anywhere from 35-70mg of caffeine. source (not entirely sure how accurate this is)

There’s a chill in the air and San Francisco finally feels like winter! Christmas trees are popping up in our neighbors' windows, the skyscrapers downtown are putting up their decorations and lights… hooray for the holidays!

And what better way to celebrate than whipping up a paleo latte that's dairy-free but still delicious?! Cozy up in front of the fire (er, or some clanking old-school heating pipes) and watch Elf on repeat. You know you want to!

Try these with my Infused Sugars – COCOA, VANILLA, CINNAMON, & CAFE MOCHA!

Tastes like home

I was so excited to try these sugars. My mother used to make us toast with butter and cinnamon sugar when we were kids, especially when we were sick. This blend hits the spot and is nostalgic for me. It's perfect on toast, as a sprinkle on homemade granola and as a shake into coffee to sweeten it up a bit.

I use the cinnamon infused sugar every morning to top my coffee and now I can’t drink coffee without it! I also got my mom and sister hooked on it after one time! So tasty and a great consistency.

Makes perfect cinnamon sugar toast! Childhood fav

I have to admit I bought this originally because I craved my childhood favorite of cinnamon sugar toast. It satisfied my late night munchies x1000!! And bonus was I started sprinkling a touch into plain oatmeal for my kids breakfast and he loves it too. I worried I wouldn’t use it enough but this is already my third time buying! Once you have it it’s easy to discover other ways to use all the sugars.
